“During my last therapy session, my psychiatrist told me that I looked really sad and down. I was suprised because I really thought I am doing okay,” pagbabahagi niya.
“But apparently, she said that even when we think we’re doing okay and that everything is going great, it’s still important to check in with pur emotions on a daily basis so that we can release the ones we need to let go of.
“We are always caught up in the external world that we completely forget to take care of what’s happening inside of us.
“Before our session ended, my therapist gave me an assignment —to cry.
“She told me to dig deep within, connect to my sadness and feel it.
“True enough, during one of my morning meditations, I was able to tap to my sadness and just suddenly started sobbing.
“It felt amazing afterwards. I felt free, light and happy,” saad niya.
“Denying our negative emotions will just make things worst. They will just piled up and get bottled up inside of us until we explode.
“If we cry or express our anger in a healthy way, we can hold space on our emotions and release them properly.
“Just like how the world needs rain sometimes, we also need to allow ourselves to cey as this form of inner cleansing will be nourishment for the soul,” paliwanag ng aktres.
“Hugs from us, the Pratties, Fee (heart emoticon)” comment ni Isabel Oli.
“Yakap!
“The trauma cycle: It starts with experiencing a stressful event that physically or emotionally caused us pain. Our bodies create a stress response.
“When we don’t grieve, express and unwrap feelings, or incompletely process our grief, we get stuck in a stress response cycle. We become frozen in trauma.
“The trauma’s energies are manifested in ways we express ‘Look, I’m sad. I’ve been abused. I think I am unworthy!’ But energy attracts energy, and so that attracts people, situations, and experiences close to the trauma, which makes you even more traumatized!
“And when it’s too much, the body can activate additional signs of trauma like feeling more anxious, having stomach aches, back aches, fatigue, etc. and when it doesn’t lessen, it can trigger chronic illnesses because the “stuck self” forms self-injurious activities in an attempt to get further attention as it continues, compulsively, to reenact the trauma internally. We continually hurt ourselves and the energy starts to feel comfortable.
This is why it’s so important to grieve, to cry it out, to release the pain, to acknowledge the pain. It is the first step to healing ourselves,” comment nito na sinang-ayunan naman ng aktres.
