MAY binitiwang pangako ang aktres na si Jessy Mendiola sa kanyang amang Lebanese matapos ang pandemic wedding nila ni Luis Manzano.
Ikinasal sina Jessy at Luis sa The Farm at San Benito sa Lipa, Batangas noong Pebrero, makalipas ang apat na taong relasyon bilang magkasintahan.
Hindi nakadalo ang tatay ni Jessy na si Roger Tawile sa kasal nila ni Luis pati na ang ilan sa mga miyembro ng kanyang pamilya dahil sa ipinatutupad na health protocols ng pamahalaan dulot pa rin ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Kaya naman hindi na naihatid ni Mr. Tawile ang anak sa altar at nasaksihan lamang ang pagpapakasal nito sa pamamagitan ng live streaming.
Sa bago niyang vlog sa YouTube, nakachikahan ni Jessy ang kanyang tatay at dito nga nila napag-usapan ang kasal nila ni Luis. Ani Mr. Tawile na naka-base na ngayon sa Bahrain, masayang-masaya siya na natagpuan na rin ng anak ang kanyang “forever.”
“I was happy. I was happy for you because, you know, when you get married, it’s your life. And I asked you so many times before, ‘Baby, are you sure? Do you love him?’
“And you said, ‘Yes, I love him. And I want to spend my future with him.’ So, for me, that’s enough,” pahayag ni Roger nang tanungin kung ano ang naging reaksyon niya nang ipaalam ni Jessy na mag-aasawa na siya.
“I just want you to be happy. That’s all. So if getting married with Luis makes you happy, Luis, it is,” aniya pa.
Nagbigay din siya ng mensahe para kay Luis, “You…you take care of my daughter!”
“I wish you a long and happy life. Just take care of each other and be happy all the time. Life is short,” ani Roger.
Nagpasalamat naman ang TV host-comedian sa tatay ni Jessy na talagang todo ang suporta sa kanilang pagmamahalan.
“Yeah, we missed you here when we had the wedding. And you know, even if we don’t have a child or a daughter yet, I can only imagine how difficult it is for a father to see one of his daughters getting married.
“That entails a lot of trust, and I’m thankful for that, Tito. I hope to see you very, very soon,” ani Luis.
Nang hingan ng message para sa anak, sinabi nito na habangbuhay niyang mamahalin at ipagtatanggol si Jessy.
“You’re a married woman but you’re still my daughter. You’re still my baby and I will always love you. I will always be beside you. Just be happy. Cherish what you have,” sey nito.
Sagot naman sa kanya ni Jessy, “I love you, Papa. All I really want to say is I really really miss you, and I’m just really so proud of you. And I want you to know that whatever you decide to do in your life, I will be there 100% to support you all the way.
“And I hope to see you very, very soon. I promise, you will be able to walk me down the aisle. I swear. I promise you that,” pahayag pa ng aktres.
Sa bandang huli ng vlog, humirit pa ng isang tanong si Jessy sa ama — ilang apo raw ba ang gusto nito mula sa kanila ni Luis.
Ani Roger, “Baby, it’s your life. It’s your decision. Whatever you decide, I’m here for you. It’s up to you. I will love them all, whether it’s 1 or 15. As many as they are, I will love them all.”
